MAM’19

In 2019 the city of Maia was celebrating 500 years of the Manuelino Foral, in this sense, the second edition of the “Month of Architecture of Maia” (MAM’19) proposed a preview of the territory to 100 years. The narrative of the meeting with time was therefore directed towards the future, inviting 8 emerging architecture studios and 4 architecture critics to imagine Maia in 2119.
This catalogue is therefore a reflection of an exhibition on the future, sensitive to the gathering of themes that were inseparable from it, such as territory, landscape, environment, architecture, technology, mobility and society.
The combination of visions that results from this exhibition, starting from the city under study and extending to the world the appeal for critical reflection, is the outcome of this catalogue.
