The first edition of “Maia Architecture Month” (MAM’18) intended to expose, think, discuss and (re) visit the architecture of Maia’s city by exhibiting the architect João Álvaro Rocha.
To extend the temporality and the diversity of this program over the course of a month, it was important to be able to make known to various audiences, and through different moments — exhibition, conference and guided tours — the various specificities of the ballast of the architectural work, as a process and method of making architecture. With the purpose of deepening the knowledge about the theme of Architecture, through the stories that present complementary universes but inescapable in the design of the understading and sharing of the memory of the architectural work, the first edition of MAM sought to be guided by a transversal discourse between the production and the contemporary thinking, between the Álvaro Rocha’s project and the man João, between the architect and the architecture.
