This year, in which the city of Maia commemorates the 500th anniversary of its Manueline Foral Charter, the second edition of “Maia Architecture Month” (MAM’19) proposes a preview of the territory for the coming 100 years.
This narrative of the encounter with time is future-driven: we called on 8 emerging architecture studios and 4 architecture critics to imagine Maia in 2119.
“Fast Forward” is an exhibition about the future that examines themes such as territory, landscape, environment, architecture, technology, mobility and society, which are inseparably linked to it
Taking the shape of texts, models, rigorous drawings, illustrations, collages, installations, virtual reality and artistic readings the visions that form the outcome of this exhibition have looked into the city of Maia and generated an appeal to the world for a critical, more or less prophetical reflection and for a growing debate on the future of cities.
